Walther P22 Review
First Impressions I got this gun after playing around with it in the store awhile, After pressing down on a peice of metal mounted near the trigger, The cartridge nicely slides down to a point and goes no further so you have no worry about it hitting the floor, You have to pull it out the rest of the way. I was satisfied with the size and appearances of the model. I loaded the cartridge up with 21 BB's for the first time of use, Managed to find a poster of Will Young(It was a long search), I decided he would be the first to feel my wrath. I aimed well from a distance of 8-9 meters as the three points on the gun alligned and blasted away like crazy. Re-cocking every shot but it was worth it to see his smile fade as each pellet ripped away at his once smileing face. Each pellet went right through the poster from a distance of several meters. Again and again i cocked and shot till the poster became very deformed, In between rapid shots several times the gun jammed, Which was fairly annoying as each time you would look down and hope you have'nt brocken anything. The gun is fairly hard to cock the first few dozen times but then you get used to it(all that goes away once you see your target, All thats on your mind is to blow the target right away, In this target case being Will Young). You should face no difficultly in cocking if you've used a P99 before your arms become used to it and soon enough you can cock the gun at speeds so fast the gun can barely keep up!

A closer look After shooting about 500 rounds of the yellow plastic pellets one of the two metal rods holding the gun together simply decided to fall off and i lost it, The gun still worked but the second rod kept sliding off as it wasn't glued on properly and the gun continuously fell apart in my hand, So i had to do some D.I.Y. of my own and had it fixed within a few minuites myself using super glue and faced no more problems from it. Another problem i had with this gun was after using the guns trigger rapidly it becomes loose in very little time and became much less responsive also some of the colour on the trigger wares away, Not all that noticeable but not too nice as it gives the entire gun a cheap feeling. The colour of the safety lock also wore away straight very fast and reveled the metal. It didn't really weigh much which also took away the realism of the gun, Only weighing about 187g compared some other replicas which can weigh up 900g and more. This felt more like a heavy mobile phone then it did a handgun replica which for me was a downside but if you prefer lighter Guns i guess this is for you. The grip on the gun was good, there was no denying that, It felt like an extention of my hand and felt fairly strange when i didnt have it in my hand after carrying it around the house for awhile!

Shooting Impressions The guns power is 0.2 joules and hurts quite abit on direct impact of my skin I guess its just my way of testing how dangerous it really is) The guns accuracy is very good from 10 meters i managed to get the red bulls-eye target 7 out of 10 times, I'd would very much advise you to buy this if your a newbie to BB guns, It just wasnt for me though, I much prefer the the heavier Gun. With a few hours of practice you can master this model, Sadly the power of this model greatly decreases if your at a distance of 15 Meters +. At that distance you'll be luckly even if it hits the target.

Conclusion Its a decent gun for newbies but for people who want real power from a BB Gun I'd advise the bigger brother for an extra £10(about $15), The Walther P99. Sure its not as small and it may be a bit uncomfortable in your hand but its got 0.5 joules of power which is more then double the smaller P22. The P22 will bearly bruise you at point blank whilst the P99 should make you bleed, So being careful is a must. Theres special goggles you can buy for eye protection, Its much advised for children and people who are not as experienced. The P22 seems to fall apart pretty quick but what can you really expect for £20{About $30}, and for the price its an alright buy. This is a newbie gun, Theres no shame in being a newbie everyone is at a point. Before handling anything of great power (0.4 joules or greater) you should practice with a Gun of this power and get your confidence up with it.
Cons: Colours ware away, Trigger Becomes loose, Metal bits tend to fall out Pros: Decent accuracy, Very good size, Good Price

Final Scores

Value: 7/10
